ThermiTight™ NECK LIFT
WHAT IS ThermiTight™ NECK LIFT?
Do you have a little loose skin on your neck that’s not bad enough to require a full surgical facelift or neck lift? Then you might be interested in the ThermiTight™ Neck Lift. It is a minimally invasive procedure that introduces radiofrequency (RF) energy beneath the skin to stimulate the production of collagen to tighten and smooth the skin of the neck.
Recovery is easy – most patients don’t need anything stronger than a Tylenol. While some changes can be seen right away, full results take about 12 weeks to become apparent. While the ThermiTight™ neck lift doesn’t replace a surgical neck lift, it’s a new option for patients who just want a “little something” done. Tighten sagging skin on the face, neck, and body with minimal downtime!
Introducing ThermiTight™ at Rumer Cosmetic Surgery, the new way to tighten sagging skin on the face, neck, and body. ThermiTight™ uses safe, effective radio frequency (RF) energy to heat tissue underneath the surface of the skin, causing contraction and tightening of lax, loose skin. This procedure is minimally invasive, requires only local anesthesia, and poses little to no downtime. In addition to the lower face and neck, ThermiTight™ is used on areas of the body that can benefit from tightening or lifting. These areas include the breasts (may be combined with breast lipo-reduction), abdomen (to reduce wrinkly skin), and upper arms.
After the skin is numbed with local anesthesia, a tiny incision is made in the skin and the ThermiTight™ electrode is introduced below the surface. The electrode is the size of a needle, so no stitches are needed. The electrode provides RF energy while simultaneously measuring the real-time temperature at its tip. Only enough RF energy is delivered to heat the tissue to a safe temperature. For added safety, an external video camera is used to measure the actual surface temperature of the skin.
Results with ThermiTight™ develop gradually and are long-lasting. The treatment itself typically takes less than one hour, and poses minimal post-treatment redness and swelling—many patients resume their normal activities right away!
For some, ThermiTight™ may put off surgical procedures such as a facelift or a necklift. In certain cases, two ThermiTight™ treatments may be needed to achieve a patient’s desired improvement.
WHAT SHOULD I KNOW?
The ThermiTight™ Neck Lift is a minimally invasive procedure that is conveniently performed right in our office under local anesthesia. The device has built-in safety features that make side effects very unlikely.

WHAT DOES THE PROCEDURE INVOLVE?
Dr. Rumer believes ThermiRF technology makes it possible for safer treatment when compared with some of the other non-surgical skin tightening procedures. She says other radiofrequency based treatments may heat the skin from the outside and are ultimately unable to determine the exact temperature of the inner layers of skin, increasing the risk of burn and injury. Dr. Rumer notes that ThermiRF is designed to directly heat the tissues deep beneath the surface and record the actual temperatures to ensure optimal treatment temperature without overheating and burning.
HOW LONG IS RECOVERY AND WHEN CAN I RESUME MY NORMAL ACTIVITIES?
There is virtually no downtime with this spectacular procedure. We recommend 24 to 48 hours of relaxation after the procedure, because you may experience some mild swelling. Immediately following the procedure, you will have a head and neck dressing applied that will be removed the very next day. We will supply you with post-procedure cream that should be applied twice daily directly under your sunscreen.
