CHEMICAL PEEL

WHAT IS A CHEMICAL PEEL?

A chemical peel is a solution that is applied to the skin that treats a variety of skin concerns such as sun damage, fine lines, deep wrinkles, acne, and acne scars.

WHAT SHOULD I KNOW?

There are different types and strengths of chemical peels – superficial, medium, or deep. Each one of them treats a different skin concern. Mild chemical peels can be done once a month to exfoliate the skin and improve skin texture. If you have acne prone skin or hyper pigmentation, you should commit to a package of five to 10 peels in order to get the acne in control or to improve the discoloration. Depending on your skin’s condition, chemical peels can be combined with Dermaplaning, DermaSweep™ (microdermabrasion) ClearLift™ Lunch Time Face Lift, or the IPL Photo Facial for even better results.

WHAT DOES THE PROCEDURE INVOLVE?

An acid solution is applied to the skin to remove dead skin cells. After the peel, the skin will look and feel regenerated.

HOW LONG IS RECOVERY AND WHEN CAN I RESUME MY NORMAL ACTIVITIES?

Recovery time varies with each strength of chemical peel. In most cases, there will be no recovery time and you may resume your normal activities immediately. In other cases involving the use of higher-strength solutions, there will be two to three days of some degree of skin peeling.
