WHAT IS AN OMG SHOT™?
The OMG Shot™ (Orgasm Shot) is a procedure trademarked by Dr. Rumer that uses your own body’s growth factors to rejuvenate the vagina to help treat urinary incontinence and sexual dysfunction. It is a non-surgical procedure that uses a woman’s own growth factors to stimulate vaginal and clitoral rejuvenation to “wake up” the Orgasm System. It has been named the OMG Shot™ because we have seen patients shout “OMG” when they experience the expected results.
WHAT SHOULD I KNOW?
Up to 40 percent of women experience sexual difficulties of some sort throughout their lives and an even higher number experience urinary incontinence, especially after childbirth. There have been a number of attempts at treatment strategies that have involved surgery or injecting foreign bodies into this area to try to achieve the same effect. The beauty of the OMG Shot™ is it involves the injection of Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) which is derived from your own blood thus minimizing potential side effects. It has been proven to be effective in a number of studies and patients should start to see results in as little as three to four weeks.
WHAT DOES THE PROCEDURE INVOLVE?
The patient is placed in a comfortable position. Topical anesthesia cream is placed on the outside of the vagina and on the clitoris. The patient will then have a sample of blood drawn that will be centrifuged in our FDA-approved system. Once the area is adequately numbed, the PRP will be injected into the appropriate areas. The PRP will then go into action, activating stem cells in the area resulting in rejuvenation and enhancement of tissues. Following the half-hour procedure, the patient will be given a vaginal stimulator to take home with them to use for the first month to further maximize their results.
HOW LONG IS RECOVERY AND WHEN CAN I RESUME MY NORMAL ACTIVITIES?
The best part of this procedure is NO recovery time. Patients are encouraged to have sexual relations that evening! It is really virtually painless and because the PRP is liquid, it goes deep into clitoral tissue, so really no swelling. The most discomfort you might experience is some slight pressure during the injection. Many have experienced enhanced orgasm immediately due to clitoral stimulation; however, the best results typically occur approximately three to four weeks later as growth factors rejuvenate pelvic floor muscle tissue and Skene’s glands.
